Adunat runs authentic social events across Romania: small groups, open questions and real conversations. Before the platform, tickets were sold from a WordPress shop with WooCommerce, as if they were products: no dates, no capacity, nothing built for events.
The project was growing by city and by facilitator, and the shop could not keep up. It needed a platform where people buy in seconds, facilitators run their own events and the admin sees everything in one place, with events that fill up in days.
I built it as three connected panels (public, facilitator and admin) on one platform designed to grow city by city. The key decision was the checkout: no account, ever. We ask for first name, last name, email and phone, and nothing else. Every extra field is people dropping out.
- 01Three connected panels: user, facilitator and admin
- 02A page for every event and experience pages (retreats) with a day-by-day schedule and application-based sign-up
- 03No-account ticketing with pay-what-you-can pricing, promo codes, ticket insurance, smart capacity (independent or shared) and a waitlist
- 04Automatic PDF tickets with QR codes and a scanning system for facilitators
- 05User geolocation to show events in their city or the nearest one
- 06Online payments, plus event cancellation or changes with automatic email alerts to buyers
- 07Automated emails (confirmation, tickets, reminder, feedback) with Brevo integration by city list
- 08Full admin panel: cities, events, facilitators, categories, prices, galleries, reviews, stats and export
- 09Facilitator panel: event creation, review moderation, statistics and KPIs
- 10Per-city WhatsApp groups and an own merch shop

Today there are 112 events published (6 live right now), 22 active facilitators and 4,673 tickets sold across 4,952 orders, with about 34,600 € collected (181,780 lei): roughly 7.40 € per ticket and over 300 € per event. Of those orders, 536 never completed because the buyer's bank payment failed; of the ones that were paid, only 118 were refunded, 2.7%. Events usually sell out their 50 seats within 2 or 3 days of being published, a week ahead, and facilitators open extra seats for the waitlist. Google brings about 25% of the traffic; the rest comes from the community: 90 to 92% of attendees join their city's WhatsApp group, which is where every new event is announced.
A platform doesn't create a community, it supports one. Adunat sells because people come back and bring others; my job was to remove everything standing between "I want to go" and "I have my ticket". A no-account checkout and a message in the WhatsApp group sell more than any campaign.
